Ending up in riverside
For those of you who stuck with us since the Kickstarter, you’ll know we were originally meant to be in North Watford.
After being hurried into putting down a deposit for a tiny unit in a newly built workspace, we were told we’d be in on 16th October. That came and went (we’d left our jobs at this point). Then we were told November. Then December.
The final straw was confirming on a Friday that we would move in, packing up all the stuff into the car, getting there on Monday only to be told we couldn’t have the keys because there were no locks or doorhandles.
We were panicked. The landlord said the building would now be ready at the end of January, but they wouldn’t offer us any other support or compensation for the inconvenience (beyond one month free).
We felt trapped - we were a new business, running on a shoe string to get started.
And then just after Christmas, we found this unit. Andi called on 2nd January, and two days later we visited. The day after that we met the landlord. And the day after that, we got the keys.
We honestly believe this was always meant to be Dropbar’s home - it’s so much better than anything we’d settled for, in an ideal location near Oxhey Park, Ebury Way and the Green Loop, and near enough we can comfortably ride to work. We’re already enjoying hanging out in the space, and we hope you will too!
